Dr. Gordon Neufeld Delivers a Series of Thought Provoking Conferences

On March 8 and 9, Atid staff and parents were treated to a series of conferences delivered by Dr. Gordon Neufeld. Dr. Neufeld’s talks focused on issues related to teaching and parenting, stressing the need to establish strong, functioning attachments (vínculos) with children. The four conferences, “The Power of Teaching”, “Counterwill”, “Hold on to Your Kids” and “Aggression”, expounded basic developmental concepts  that affect children’s behavior as they grow.
For teachers, the ideas presented will help them create a more favorable environment for learning in a context in which teachers’ roles have changed dramatically. For the more than 800 parents who attended the evening conference, we are certain that his thoughts will provide a guiding light as they raise their children in the difficult social panorama that we confront today.
