Academic Program

Middle School has, among its objectives, the development of socially responsible and conscientious human beings, capable of acquiring significant knowledge applicable throughout their lives, who develop essential abilities for future activities and incorporate values which will prepare them to be successful in a world in which technological and scientific change make for a unique frame of reference.

The design of the curriculum is implemented through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP-IB), whose fundamental concepts are based on the development of communication abilities, the strengthening of an international mentality and a holistic approach towards learning.

Middle School learning is divided into eight subject areas: Language A (Spanish), Language B (English and Hebrew), Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), Mathematics, Physical Education, Art (Visual and Interpretative), Technology and Humanities (Geography, History and Civic Education). Study units are based on essential concepts seen through the lenses of the Interaction Areas (Community and Service, Learning to Learn, Health and Social Education, Human Ingenuity and Environments). The goal is to reach understanding for learning through an interdisciplinary approach, problem resolution, case studies and projects in which each subject involved contributes to the final product with its concepts, language and/or methodology.

Students conclude their academic studies in MYP-IB with the development of a Personal Project, of original inspiration and creation, which allows them to demonstrate the autonomous learning and investigative skills they have acquired, as well as their ability to integrate different subjects and areas of study.

Being that early adolescence is a transitional stage, focusing on the strengthening of universal values as well as a well defined Judeo-Mexican identity is fundamental. Students are prepared to make responsible and well informed decisions and they participate actively in social and community activities. Students carry out annual projects with the support of the Psychopedagogic Department and/or the Parents’ Society, in which relevant topics are touched upon such as addiction prevention, healthy interpersonal relations and risky behaviors. Parallel to this, social service projects are performed such as fund raisers and visits to homes, support to rural housing and campaigns to help those in need.
